The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program, initiated by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, serves the purpose of attracting high-achieving international students to pursue master’s and PhD programs in French higher education institutions.

This program caters to future decision-makers, under the age of 25, from developing countries applying for master’s level studies, and individuals under 30, from both developing and industrialized nations, seeking enrollment in PhD level programs. French Universities and Academic Institutions act as the hosts for these aspiring scholars.

The Eiffel scholarships are focused on two primary disciplinary fields:

  • For science and technology: Biology and health; Ecological transition; Mathematics and digital; Engineering Sciences
  • For the humanities and social sciences: French history, language, and civilization; Law and political science; Economics and management

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:
For Master’s level studies, the Eiffel scholarship provides a monthly allowance of €1,181 and can be awarded for 12-36 months. For PhD level studies, the scholarship includes a monthly allowance of €1,700 and is granted for a maximum of 12 months. Additionally, the program covers various expenses such as international transportation, national transportation, health insurance, housing searches, and cultural activities. Tuition fees are not covered by the Eiffel Programme.

Eligibility:
Applicants must inquire about the eligibility criteria with the French Higher Education Institution they are applying to.

Application instructions:
Applications are NOT accepted from students directly. Applications for EIFFEL scholarships are submitted by French Higher Education Institutions. Applications sent directly by students or by foreign institutions will be declared ineligible.

Therefore, you must apply and meet the requirements of the French Higher Education Institution to be considered for the scholarship. Contact the French educational institution or research organization to learn how to apply for admission and express your wish to be considered for an Eiffel scholarship.

The application deadline for participating French Institutions falls around November-December 2023. The deadline for applications to Campus France is 10 January 2024.
