The University of Lausanne in Switzerland offers the UNIL Master’s Grants through a competitive selection process, providing support to international students who aspire to pursue a Master’s Degree at the University.

Level/Field(s) of study: All Master’s programs among those offered by UNIL, with the exception of the following:

• Master’s programs from the School of Medicine • Master’s in Sciences and Practices of Education • Master of Law (with exceptions: Specializations “International and Comparative Law,” “Legal Theory,” and “International Tax Law and Policy”) • Master of Science in Physical Education and Sport Didactics • Master of Science in Health Sciences • Master of Science in Sustainable Management & Technology • All MASs (3rd cycle programs, Further Education programs)

Number of Scholarships: Approximately 10

Scholarship value/duration: The scholarship is awarded for the minimum statutory duration of the chosen program. It provides CHF 1,600 per month from September 15 to July 15 (or 10 months per year) for the entire duration of the master’s program (one and a half or two years, depending on the chosen master’s), except in cases of definitive failure after the first year.

Students granted this scholarship will be exempt from fixed registration fees for courses, except for the CHF 80.00 fees due each semester.

Eligibility:

• Having obtained a foreign university degree considered equivalent to a bachelor’s degree at UNIL before the start of the master’s program at UNIL. • Demonstrating exceptional academic performance during your studies, especially through outstanding academic results. • Possessing language skills of at least C1 level (according to the European Language Portfolio global scale) in either French or English, depending on the language of instruction for your chosen master’s program. • Not having been previously enrolled at UNIL. • Paying the CHF 200.00 administrative fee (refer to the document “list of documents to attach to your application”).

Application instructions:

The application form for the Masters Scholarship also serves as an application for ADMISSION to the selected Master’s program (and serves as the registration form at UNIL). Thus, you do not need to apply for the master’s degree separately at the Admission Office (SII) of UNIL. Candidates for the Masters Scholarship should apply online and upload their complete application file in PDF format during the online application process (do not send it by email).

The application deadline is November 1 (postmark) for beginning a master’s degree in the following academic year, either in the autumn semester or the spring semester, depending on the program.
