University of Calgary Scholarships comprises two types:

  • Energizing Canada International Entrance Scholarship: $20,000 (Renewable)
  • University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship: $20,000 (Renewable)

Eligibility Criteria for University of Calgary Scholarships for International Students

To be eligible for the University of Calgary Scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Required Language: English.
  • Eligible Countries: All countries worldwide

Energizing Canada International Entrance Scholarship:

  • Offered annually to an international student entering their first year in an undergraduate degree program at the University of Calgary.
  • Renewable for the second, third, and fourth years at the University of Calgary, provided recipients maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 and complete a minimum of 24.00 units during the previous fall and winter terms.
  • Criteria include academic merit and financial need.
  • Applicants must have graduated from a recognized high school in China, including Hong Kong and Macau.
  • Preference is given to students entering the Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Health Sciences, or Bachelor of Arts – Urban Studies program.

University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship:

  • Awarded annually to international undergraduate students entering their first year in any undergraduate degree program in the upcoming fall term, provided they meet the university’s English Language Proficiency requirement.
  • Renewable for the second, third, and fourth years at the University of Calgary, provided recipients achieve a GPA of 2.60 or higher, with a minimum of 24.00 units completed in the previous fall and winter terms, and continue to pay an international differential tuition fee.
  • Eligible candidates include international students who must pay a differential fee and are not Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada.
  • Academic merit is the key criterion.

How to Apply for University of Calgary Scholarships for International Students

(1) Start by applying for your undergraduate program at the university:

  • Initiate your application by creating a UCalgary eID.
  • Utilize the application guide to assist you with the application process.
  • Submit your application and pay the $145 application fee.
  • Based on your application, you will receive instructions in your Calgary Student Center on how and where to submit any required documents. For more information, please visit the documents page.

(2) Proceed to apply for the scholarship by following these steps:

  • Access your Student Center through your myUofC portal.
  • In your Student Center, navigate to the “My Financials” page.
  • Scroll down to the “Awards & Scholarships” section and click on “Apply for Undergraduate Awards.” Ensure that pop-ups are enabled, as the page will not display if they are blocked.
  • A pop-up window will appear with any open applications or those that have recently closed. Pay attention to the Application Available and Application Deadline dates.
