University of Twente Scholarships (UTS) for 2024/2025
The University of Twente Scholarships (UTS) are designed for outstanding students, both from EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA countries, who are seeking enrollment in a graduate program (MSc) at the University of Twente.

Number of Scholarships: Approximately 50 scholarships are available.
Target group: These scholarships are open to international students from both EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA countries (please refer to the official website for a complete list of eligible countries).
Scholarship value/duration: The value of the scholarship ranges from €3,000 to €22,000 for one year. If the program extends over two years, students can receive an additional UTS scholarship amount equal to the first year if they meet the renewal requirements.
Eligibility: To be eligible for a UTS, candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
- Application for a UT scholarship is a separate process from applying for admission to a course at the University of Twente. Regardless of the scholarship, you must first receive an admission letter.
- You have been (provisionally) accepted into one of the eligible UT Master’s programs that begin in the academic year 2024/2025 (in September). Please note that it may take up to 8 weeks to receive the results after you complete your application.
- You must possess a student number.
- You have not previously obtained a graduate degree from UT.
- You meet the conditions for obtaining an entry visa to the Netherlands (if applicable).
- You meet the general English language proficiency requirement, which is Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT 90) with an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) in the speaking skills subscore.
- You are not eligible for a Dutch study loan.
- The University of Twente Scholarship is for excellent students, typically representing the top 5% to 10% of their class.
Application instructions: The application process begins on October 15, 2023.
First, you need to apply for a Master’s program. Once you have applied and received a (conditional) admission letter, you can submit your scholarship application using your student number. The deadline for Round 1 applications, which opens on October 15, 2023, is February 1, 2024, while the deadline for Round 2 applications, which opens on February 1, 2024, is May 1, 2024.
