The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) extends a distinctive opportunity to exceptional prospective non-EU/EEA students who aspire to pursue a Master’s degree at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Scholarship value/inclusions: The VUFP scholarship covers the tuition fees for your Master’s program. It does not provide any additional financial support for study or living expenses.

The VUFP scholarship can be granted for either a one or two-year Master’s program. It will only be extended for the second year of a two-year Master’s program if you have achieved 100% of the credits in the first year.

When you apply for the VUFP scholarship, you are automatically considered for the NL Scholarship. There is no need for a separate application. If you are awarded the NL Scholarship, it provides financial support for living costs, which can be either 5,000 EUR or 10,000 EUR for one year. The NL Scholarship is exclusively awarded for the first year of your study program.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the VUFP scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

• You are the holder of a non-EU/EEA passport and are not eligible for the lower tuition fee. • You do not possess Dutch nationality. • You can demonstrate your academic excellence, with a GPA equivalent to a Dutch 8. • You have received either conditional or unconditional admission to the first year of a full-time English-taught Master’s program at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam starting in September 2024. Please note that students starting in February cannot apply, and joint programs not administered by VU Amsterdam are not eligible for VUFP. • The degree you are seeking admission to has not been obtained in the Netherlands. • You are not required to complete a preparatory program before the start of your Master’s.

Application instructions: Please note that you must apply and receive conditional admission to a Master’s program before you can apply for the VUFP scholarship.

Students should register for a Master’s program in Studielink by 1st December 2023 (starting from 1st October 2023). Following this, you must submit your VUFP application along with the supporting documents in your VU dashboard by 1st February 2024 (starting from 1st November 2023).
